    Default Tyres for 3.0V6 CDTi

    Guys

I know this question has been asked before recently but could someone give me the answer in a basic laymans terms. I running 19 snowflakes with 235/35/R19 Conti sports on them and they are XL. Am I right in saying, having read a few of the previous posts on this subject, that to be XL rated the tyre index is 94/95?? When I did a search for tyres on Mytyres and Camskill they were showing 235/35/19 tyres with a 91 load index and saying that they were XL. Why are these sites not showing this size of tyre with a 94/95 load index?? I am on nightshift so if this reads like drivel then its because my brain is going into sleep mode!! Sitting at 2mm so need to get tyres soon.

as far as I know, you are right. 94/95 are XL, 91 is not.

My concern is that on any tyre website that I go on and put in my tyre size, 235/35/19, that they only list those with a load index of 91 which I'm lead to believe is borderline for the 3.0 V6 hatchback. Can those of you who do run V6's tell me where you got your tyres from and if it was from the internet or local tyre centre. Think I'll pop in to Kwik Fit, Budget, etc tomorrow and see what they are saying.

I know this has been debated before but would like to hear more comments from others who have replaced their tyres before I make my purchases. It will need to be real soon as the wife got stopped by the traffic cops and they said we'd need to be changing the front tyres real soon!!

Look forward to hearing more comments.

You can get 91 XL tyres. Plenty of them on tyre shopper. the index rating has nothing to do with being XL. On the Vec Estate it needs XL/EL tyres as the camber wall needs re-inforcing. I found out the hard way by going for normal tyres and watching the inside edge of the rear wear away over 15k.

    Pirelli PR PZERO CORSA> NO 94YXL £204

    Other 91 tyres
Dunlop do DU SP MAXX Z XL for £153 a corner in 235/35/19 Z XL
    Goodyear GY EAG F1 A/S FP 91Y XL £153
    Uniroyal UNI RAINSP1 FR 91W XL £163
Pirelli PR PZERO NERO 91Y XL £187
Continental CT SP CONT VMAX FR Z XL £263

    Other sites available too

Marks is also an auto, that pushes it over the limit on the 91's. Its only like 50kg's under it. As for 19's on a V6 diesel they are not available from the factory due to the weight. A few do run them as its ok, but ONLY with XL tyres.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I wouldn't m8, Pay the extra and go for the 94's. If anything happened you could find your insurance would not pay out

All the websites that I've checked only seem to list 91 load index tyres. Will need to try my local tyre places to see if they have any 95 load tyres.
