    Default 1.9 CDTi Clutches...

Does anyone know anything about 1.9 CDTi Clutches...

    - How much do they cost
    - Are they easy to fit
    - Can they be replaced by a competition (more stronger version) clutch

    etc etc etc...

    P.S. .... only asking so I'm prepared.....

They are not cheap and are a pig to fit so i'm told, all nearside subframe has to come off. 5-6 hour job It might be longer due to the DMF. Don't think there is a performance clutch out there yet. There wasn't for my Saab Aero a couple of months ago.

I've a feeeling mine might not last the distance either, not had a clutch replaced since 1987 in a Maestro Van!!, but adding loads more power is having a detrimental effect on the clutch (& the brakes)

The box is more than likely used in other GM cars over the pond. Try looking there as there are sure to be more avenues over there.

Slips on the racetrack at all?
Clutch is a worry.. not sure it's up to the job of 300+ lbft :/
Mine is rattling on tickover a bit now, not sure if it's a problem, but didn't notice it before.

Why don't they keep it like the astra's & cavalier's used to be, I think they could be changed in under an hour

    Yep,

Third lap of the Nurburgring the clutch started slipping...

Third traffic light on the Walsall Ring and I think I noticed a bit of slip as I pulled away using the ASBO technique..

This car must be pulling around 300 lbft now... or more... and I still want to stick more power in...

if you've done one before !? its a 3 hour job ! the sub frame needs to be droped , if its DMF ? you need a big bar and some thread lock to put the flywheel back on ! and try not to damage the slave cylinder as they are over £60 ! when mine went , i bought an uprated flywheel n clutch from courtenay ! which as it turned out does'nt fit the C (2.2 petrol) ! both courtenay and regal did'nt know this !! any more info you need ?? drop me a line matey !

The clutch alone is about £450 cos I looked at getting an uprated one when my old one starting slipping (wasn't slipping when it went to 888 but it was when they gave it back...) but no body does an uprated clutch so it would have to be custom made and they will need a 1.9CDTI clutch to work from.
