if you mean lifetime mileage.. then there's no reason why a well serviced ( beyond the schedule) Dti shouldn't do 200,000..the CDTi's seem to hold out well as well..

    Just found this:

The high mileage car (A Mercedes...of course) turned out to be owned by Robert O'Reilly of Olympia, Washington, whose 1957 Type 180D (W120) had travelled 1,184,880 miles.

I'm guessing he/she means "max miles per gallon" no?
If yes, well Vx say you can get up 60mpg from it, at a steady 60mph on the flat. I've had just over 50mpg on a journey under near ideal conditions, and mine is the pre-facelift which isn't quite as good on fuel as the facelift.

As for longevity of Vx cars on general, well, I covered 205,000 miles in my last car - a 1994 Cavalier 2.0 16v Sri (150), and the engine was like new when I traded it in. What's more, I only did oil changes once every 30,000 or so
Diesels should go on well over 200k without any major overhaul, but quite a few of these fancy new high performance ones are having fuel system troubles much sooner

My colleague and I both have the 1.9CDTI Diesel Vectra's. Mines an Auto and I get around 500 miles out of a tank of diesel and he consistantly gets 650-670 miles out of a tank as he drives a constant 70 on the motorway with the air-con off.
