Handbrake warning from vx

Hi all!
Did anyone else recently get a letter from vx explaining the correct way to apply the handbrake?. I can only assume that this was down to some people having difficulty with it- Has anyone?. They even sent a sticker to put on the sun visor!

I got mine this morning. I want to know how they got my details as I've never bought anything from Vauxhall for this car. If the DVLA have given Vx the details, will Vx then keep them for marketing purposes later? I can feel a DPA request coming on...
