have they told you what is causing it to run on 5 cylinders !
Faulty Spark plug, would you believe it
You just don't think of the obvious sometimes mate, but how often do you hear of faulty spark plugs. never mind at least it was a cheap fix!.
A guy i used to work with once bought a mini engine from a scrap yard cos his had blown up. when he got it home he fitted new plugs air filter oil etc and put the engine in fired her up misfired like hell. he checked everthing no joy so pulled the engine out took it back and the bloke said take another no problem. he get home fits the engine without doing anything to it and it runs fine puts the new plugs in and ........ misfire. He had 2 faulty plugs and as expected was a bit peed off.
lol, well VX told me to have the 4th service done, the service is due next week anyway, and they wont charge me for finding the fault and just replace the plugs with the service...Result!
that is a result, hopefully they wont find anything expensive on your 4th service, your cars a peach by the way, and i would keep the vxr wheels
Check back in the service history, depending on if your service history is time intervals or mileage dependent then I would have thought the servcie at 38K miles would have been a major one and included all service components including spark plug renewal interval
If they were indeed replaced at that service, then they should be covered by 12 month warranty
My previous Vectra 2.0 had the spark plugs replaced at 40K mile service intervals, along with the cambelt kit and all other service components
Expensive, but cheaper in the long-term
The cambelt was changed by the previous owner at VX it wasnt done during the service
Isn't spark plug interval 80,000 miles??
53K and up for 4th service??? Is 3.2 service interval shorter than others??
No its every 20k but since ive had the car i want it done every year
