About to go on a trip back home so 1,000+ miles and a week ago the oil service light came up so made the decision to oil change even though the service is due in about 4,000 miles. So I thought rather then do it myself I'd take it to National Tyres for one of their's. Anyway, guy phones back 30 mins later saying he can't get the sump nut off and is unwilling to try anymore. Looks like last time it was in for a service some chimp decided to swing on the end of a scaffold pole and tighten it up.
Anyway to cut all the effing and jeffing out managed to get the sump nut off, but have also managed to crack the sump in not one but two places They aren't large and are at the 4 and 8 position, but they are visable. Question is what now? Can you DIY repair it? Do I just get a new sump plug fill 'er up and fingers crossed?
If anyone has any words of wisdo, it would be much appreciated.
