    Default 1.9 CDTi MPG Poll

What MPG figures are achieved by your 1.9CDTI? The figure we are looking for is the mixed driving, ie a bit of round the town, to the shops etc mixed in with a fast flowing A road or Motorway. This is the figure referred to as 'combined' in most manufacturers litreature and the most relevent indicator of the most common use of the car.

We'll then take the average and compare this real life figure to what Vauxhall claim and see if they got it right.

Mine never drops below 40 unless i'm really enjoying myself around the lanes. Then it's very high 30's. mostly by-pass driving returns 48-55. Overall 45ish.

I'm starting to get worried, I don't get anything decent out of mine, even when I'm motorway cruising.
The most I've ever had on my trip is 46mpg, but that was driving extremely conservative.
I checked it the other day, and it was reading 38.8mpg and it hasn't been driven even close to hard.
It has been poor since vx reset the ecu on one of the many trips it's had to vx due to the gearbox problem, and it has been flatspotting too.

I think another trip to vx is on the cards

Tried that Alex, I was really hoping it was that too, the embarrassment would have been worth it

    Worth try mate.

Have you worked it out manually to see what you're really getting?

It's funny you should say that as I always reset my trip after filling and yesterday I filled up and the trip read 495 miles from the last tank.

Also might be worth mentioning that before I fiiled up yesterday the range said I had just 19 miles left but the needle had only just gone into the red zone on the gauge.

And I thought diesels were supposed to be frugal

When my needle hits the red my computer reads 35miles, and warns me. This I believe is what it should read.

It's sounding like something is amiss with your computer bud. I'd take a trip to the stealers and get it on Tech2 for a software re-write. It's defo not right!

I'd work out your MPG manually as well.

When the needle hits red on mine it displays 31MILES!!!! and will not let me change the display. Made me smile the first time it happened. If the car could talk i'm sure it would have been shouting it out.
