Default Diesel fans look here -

I got this out of the latest issue of Auto Express. Bear in mind they don't get everything right, but in most cases they're spot on -

212bhp from our 1.9 CDTi and it's going to be badged VXR and will be fitted into the Vectra

Afraid its not ground breaking news though Alex. Its been known for a while that the VXR vectra is going to have the option of a twin turbo 1.9 CDTi engine, along with the 2.8 Turbo (or twin turbo?)

Aparantly its the next generation of our type of engine but im not sure how much similarty there is between the two?

Twin turbo, meaning two stage, or just two turbos??

Im guessing it will be two turbos. The trendy thing to do these days is have a smaller turbo spin up quicker which eliminates the trubo lag of the larger trubo which kicks in a bit further up the rev range.

Yes, I know mate . The rumour has been going around for a while now. I first heard about it on VS about 6 months ago, but this is the first time I've seen it in writing and I thought that your members might want to read it.

the japs did this on the skyline didnt they?

it seems a bit scary how well deisels are taking off twin turbo in an astra as option on the most sporty model - its says it all!
