Default Track Day Anyone...(Not a £600 one either)

    Right,

Another one of my Brainwave's, although this one is a lot cheaper and more viable.

Mallory Park rent out their circuit for whole days for £6750 a day, the track is ours for the whole day, from 9am - 5pm, with full use of all facilities on site including the Pits/Recovery/canteen etc...

You can have any number of cars on the day(max 70), but they tend to limit the amount on the track at any one time to 30, so the track is not too crowded.

If we got 60 of us, it would cost £112.50 each all in, for a whole day with people you know.

Just an idea(I have waaaaaay too much time on my hands as you can tell)

What day of the week would you be looking at?

And do they supply any fuel or sell Diesel cheap?

I have not even thought about arranging it TBH, i was just a little surprised about how cheap it worked out so thought i'd share it.

As for fuel, i wouldnt have thought they supply it, I know they used to have 1 pump on site for Racing Cars, dont know if its still there.

I quite like the idea of a track day, but IMO it would be nigh on impossible to get 60 people interested. TRAX, VBOA and PVS, the biggest shows of the year, only attracted about 30 or 35 cars each - its typically the same people who attend these events, so I would think you'd probably get about the same for a track day.

So for 30 people, you're looking at over £200 each, and that's quite a big layout for a day's fun. I'd love to do it, but the price would put me off.

    Just my opinion though

How about a joint affair with, say, the Astra lot? Just an idea, if there is a bit of interest on here.

It could be a nightmare to organise, though.

Yeah, be much more likely to make up the numbers that way. Over to you, Ben

Well I advertised recently a 'closed event' Karting day at Daytona Milton Keynes (.......as so many people had told me they would love to do it).

That attracted....... wait for it....... One person !!!

and that was only an outlay of between £46 and £80 depending on the event.

So to risk your own car on a UK race circuit with a load of Astra drivers is beyond my reasoning. (he says, jumping on the Nurburgring full of European nutters - 800 miles from home !!)

I only came up with the idea!

You dont have to share the track with the Astra club. SPlit the day into 2 sections, 9 til 1, then 1 til 5. We have one half, they have the other, everyone wins! We get to go home at 1300!

It would work better that way too i'd think.

I know. Maybe you would have had a better response on www.stupidboyracers.net?
