Worth so much to me, yet so little to the trade :(

Well its time for the Vectra C to go.

Wifey is due our third baby next weekend and having tried all the seats across the back row, it can happen but is not practical.

So, i thought to myself if i was going to resign myself to the people carrier route i might as well make it a decent one, so this morning i shall be viewing a 2003 Zafira GSi in black, with the hope of leaving a deposit on it or taking it away today, as its in Bournemouth and i am a fair distance from there.

But, i am surprised to read from our Glasses Guide at work, that the trade price is £5850! ****** hell i just paid off the loan i had against it at £8500 two months ago.

I'd ideally like £6500 minimum as its a very well cared for car, just had a VX service and four new Goodyear Eagle F1's and a years tax. Still thats cars for you i guess but i hope this Zaffy holds its money better. Also its more about the price to change, not what either car is worth really.

The car i am looking at has 24k on the clock and good bodywork/history. Insurance is surprising at £450 for a 29 year old living in Beirut lol.

Spent last night whipping headunit/sub/amp out of the Vectra, will possibly have an Irmy grille for sale/swap for Zafira one.

Zaffy GSi`s are holding their value, very nice cars. Veccys dxepreciate like bricks im afraid, I was offered 12k for mine a couple of weeks ago ... take th plunge though the zaffy will be awesome ...

Unfortunately that's the Veccy's biggest weak spot is the fact that they ain't worth diddly second hand but need's must and you are replacing it with a cracker !!!!!!!Alway's fancied a Zaffy myself they just seem like a belting all round tool !!

Try and sell private, just sold my Vectra B and i got £400 more than trade in, they offered £1,400, i put it on EBay and sold it the next day.

I'm in a similar position, I settled the finance in May for about 8k which is nearly twice what the car is worth !

I'll be keeping it now I reakon and running it into the ground.

Manage to get 3 kids in the back of my veccy, although admittedly no babies anymore, ages 5-9. Is there definately no way you can manage with the vec?
