Default Megs Paint Cleaner and Clay

Just spent £30 on Megs Paint Cleaner and Clay Kit.

The Paint Cleaner says it will remove swirl marks and blemishes, but does it work??

The car is in desperate need of a clean, and the swirl marks are shocking

It says to wash the car with Megs stuff, then use the paint cleaner, then use Megs polish then Megs wax, but would it be wise to use my usual shampoo and not bother with a polish and wax?

Also, would it be ok to use the paint cleaner and clay in the same day?

The clay and paint cleaner pretty much remove all the wax and polish, to remove the blemishes. So if you are happy with your shampoo then fine, but definately put some wax back on. The polish and wax stages help to mask the swirls left behind, and add a deep wet look shine to the car.

Yes mate I quite often wash the car dry it clay it and paint cleaner it before layering it back up.

I have tried the paint cleaner. It did remove the dirt from the paint but did nothing for the swirl marks. Will try scratch X next.

I bought the 3 stage kit (paint cleaner, polish and wax) and was quite impressed with the resulting shine. Not fanatical enough (YET!) to try the clay.

After mate. To get best results from the DC1 work in a area no bigger than a square foot. Work east to west and then north south in straight lines. TBH your not going to get all the swirls out of the paint just by hand, a PC or Rotary is the best way to remove them, but you can lessen them. I use a glaze (Megs #7) before my wax which helps hide the swirls.
