    Default CIM module

    Anybody know if this is just a straight swap (without ignition barrel)and will 1 of a 2.2SRI fit on a 3.2GSI.I beleive its on the steering column

    No, it's not a straight swap

    The CIM is coded to the car and also holds your cars keyfob information. If you put another one on, your car won't start.

    Needs Tech2 to program in your cars information, then learn your keycodes again. Also needs to have been reset when removed from the donor car before you can do any of this.

    I'm guessing that the 2.2 and 3.2 use the same module, but I'm sure somebody that knows for sure will be along soon...

    yep.. it needs programming to the car...you can't just swap them over..

    i had the same problem with mine. brought a second hand one for £30 delivered because my squib was no good, so i thought il just change them over went to start the car and nothing phoned a deal and the said it was no good and throw it away and buy a new one at £250 programed. so went home had a good look a besided to take it apart a just change the squib it took all of 20 mins. dealer said it cant be done proved them wrong.

    if you have all the info from the other car ie vin number key code imob code and it could be done via tech 2
