need a bit more info before I could hazzard a guess the nature of the failure...

If just the sat nav isn't working...maybe the aerial is broke or disconnected..
If no power...check connections and fuses...
If you have safe or fault, then the either or both of the screens are not programmed or matched...
I assume it was a private sale...so no post purchase warranty...you could always ask the previous owner of any problems that he may have had..
If he is unscrupulous, he will not even bother to help...and you will know that you have been given a dud.

    Hope this helps..

Maybe a daft question but the New disc is definately for the CD70 and not for a CD2013 is it?

Unless it is an old copy say pre-2004...I wouldn't think it matters which head-unit it is...mine sometimes says invalid CD...but I just stick it back in and it simply works...probably dirty disk or dirty cd reading lens...unless you've got the dvd90 disk...I dont think any ofthe "CD" radios will accept a DVD format of disk...
just guessing at the above from my experience...

My head unit was doing the same thing, from a 56 plate. It sounds like pickup failure, you can hear the unit desperately trying to focus, but then it will say invalid cd and spit it out. disc is 100% spotless. took it to dealer, result, brand new headunit is being fitted today.

You MAY be able to fix yourself if you are handy with screwdriver and fine soldering, but you will need a new pickup assembly, no way of knowing what unit it is or how easy to get hold of until you take it to bits. But at a grand for a new unit it's worth a try.

Laser unit, this often happens with CD's and DVD's - when they reach their wear limit the focusing becomes less acurate, any scratches or dirt is neglible, the actual focusing happens further down, like a pyramid, the dirt is only half way up the pyramid as an analogy, either way this is the first sign of wear in the Transport mechanism on Disc reading systems, previously dirty discs suddenly need cleaning.

Sorry bearer of bad news, but this is all too common with me and CD drives in PC's...Good news!!! They are slowly coming out on EBay. seen one other week, went for £82....

Not sure about fitting and cloning to vehicle...

Sig 2.2, have you tried visiting another dealer to try and get done under warranty? is the vehicle over three years old yet?

the car is 2+1/2 years old but is 5000 over mileage warranty

Try another dealer, or a call to Vx.... the car may be over mileage, but the head unit isn't really a part that should be affected by the mileage, so you should be able to talk a new head unit out of them!!!
