    Default Poor Headlights

Hi, this is my first post so please be gentle with me.

I have just bought an 04 Signum Elegance and love the car to bits. One problem I have found though is the headlights are so dim on dipped beam. Is this a common problem with the Signum? I also have an astra that doesn't have this problem so I am wondering if the Signum uses inferior bulbs.

I am very keen to sort this problem as I feel they are dangerous as they are now.

Thanks for your replys. I have seen the threads on here about brighter bulbs but none of them actually said they had a problem. I had already half decided to get the Philips X-treme bulbs but just needed the extra push to do it. The only thing putting me off is the thought of fitting them. I think I will try Halfords for a supply and fit.

I have changed bulbs on other cars before and got on ok (maybe a scraped knuckle here and there). I think I would be ok doing it but I was also going to ask for the alignment to be checked as it does seem that they are very low. Even high beam seems to make a spot on the road instead of being spread out evenly. Is there a way to check the alignment myself and raise the lights slighty?

Thanks for the reply Merikiito. Is it the H4 or the H7 that I need for the Signum? I am fairly new to doing anything on cars and usually send it to the garage.

Yeah the scraped knuckle itīs a must when changing the bulbs in this things
I think you can play with the alignment with the two sets of white hexagonal heads on each lamp.
