first service

evening all can any body help. first the veccy is telling me it needs its first service the spanner lights come on its on 20k? i bought the car in july with 16k on the clock i was told it was serviced when i bought it. doyou guys think its safe to go to 36k or get it serviced now at 20k

salesman favourate "yes sir just been serviced" contact your dealer speak to the service dept. ask them to check the service history on your car....if it has been serviced but your light has come on sounds like the inspection hasn,t been re-set.

if it hasn,t been serviced go back to your salesman to get it sorted

David,

If you ask at the dealers they will be able to tell you if it was serviced at 20K.

I wouldn't leave it to 30 odd K... I think it may even invalidate your warranty.

Others will be along here If i'm wrong...

Check your sales invoice to see that the service is on it. Otherwise the salesman will deny he said it.

Why would they service a car at 16k. sorry mate

I shouldn't worry too much about the cost of the first service......
Mine (at 20,000 miles) came to £129 inc VAT and a pair of wiper blades. If you're in any doubt about your motor's service history, I'd get it done pronto - with VX dealer - at least you know they're using the correct oil and other parts - anyone elses could invalidate the (three year) warranty.

i was thinking i will just get it serviced gives me piece of mind all though the cars going a treat and theres not point in loosing the warranty sounds alright for a service is that a vauxhall dealer

Yes David, that was at Crownhill Vauxhill in Milton Keynes. They also fitted me a new indicator switch under warranty in an attempt to stop them switching themselves off (when turning the wheel in the direction indicated), but frankly, it's no better and I'm just learning to live with it.

It was just probably inspected in the workshops...
I got mine with just over 10k on the clock, They told me that they would take it in to the workshops and that I could collect it the next day.I thought great only a day to wait..
I picked the car up took it home.
The washer bottle warning light came on.
The next day engine was a little bit noisy checked the oil, it was wasn't reading on the dipstick.
Took it back to the dealers thay had to put 2ltrs of oil in the car and top up
the wash bottle.I said to them.I thought the car was serviced yesterday?
they told me that it was only an inspection as the service intervals are 30k..
I told them that they can't even inspect it correctly if it's low on oil..

If I was you mate I would just get it serviced for Peace of mind

thats funny i had the same thing happen with my washer bottle i just got home the day i bought it and light came on suppose that was sign that it was not serviced but other than that the car has been great no probs so far
