    Default Soundproofing the road noise

I'm planning to soundproof my vectra from the tyre and road noise. I've already ordered self adhesive damping material called 'Vibroplast' (http://www.standartplast.lv/index.php?navig=120).
It is supposed to have good value for money, and it is successfully used by some car-hifi-chaps (pics of one project: http://www.kalliojarvi.net/ibiza/vai...mennus-2-e.htm)

I will first do the trunk and the rear arches.
I have never removed the inner paneling, so I'd need advice how to safely remove it in order to install the damping material to the bare metal, full lenght of arches and trunk?

    What road noise ???

Mine is very quiet. I don't think it needs any additional sound proofing.

I've done a fair bit of soundproofing myself & it didn't make a huge amount of diffence. The rear wheel arches aren't particularly easy to do either - I just took the boot floor mat out, removed the obvious clips on the side panels & it all came out fairly easily

Loads of road noise from mine - 1.9 CDTi design bought new in June this year. Particularly from the o/s rear.
I believe others put it down to the Bridgestone tyres.
Not a car that could be described as a relaxing motorway cruiser by any stretch of the imagination.

If you put the back seats down it's like driving a washing machine & as I doubt the rear parcel shelf is a particularly good sound absorbing medium I reckon you could do accomplish a fair bit doing something about that.

Even after soundproofing there is alot of noise with the back seats down

Thanks for comments. I've heard that the Dynamat/Vibroplast etc. mat should be molded directly to the metal surface. It should absorb low frequencies and vibration, for higher frequencies thicker felt or foam material should be used on top of the Vibroplast.

The Bridgestone's do seem to be very noisy tyres ... I wont miss them when I change them. Mine can be quite noisy from the rear (with the Bridgestone's on) but I had a saloon before my current Hatchback and it was super quiet, particularly with the OEM Goodyear Eagle NCT5's on.

I have the OEM NCT5's on, 215/50/17, and they are quite noisy. The asphalt here in FIN might also play a role in this game...
