    Default F1 autocentres

Just returned from my £30 MOT (had a voucher) for my micra and it passed
so I treated it to a front wheel balance...got a £1 off each wheel with a voucher as well.

Anyway to my reason for posting....

Had a chat with the supervisor about servicing. You may remember its only £99.95 (inc Vat) and there is a £10 voucher on their web page. They do NOT use orginial VX parts. They use pattern parts. The one's my local depot use are MANN parts and ADL parts. He rated these parts as just as good as the orginials.
Also, if you want semi-synthetic oil its £13.95 extra. You can bring in your own oil and parts and they will adjust the price accordingly.
They will still make the same profit ,I assume, whether you bring the parts or not.

They will also stamp your book as well.

I for one will be using them as I think this is a good deal. Although I may buy my own oil.

    your thoughts please..................

I used them for tyres once, never again. The fitter tookabout 2 hours to get the tyres on ( cheap eastern bloc ones) there was lots of stuffing plastic in to get them to seal ?

Anyway after fitting I drove away, pulled out bang ,bang, bang ???? What the **** when I stopped and looked they had not tightened the wheel nuts up GRRRRRR

When I took it back not even an apology, Cowboys in my opinion.

A lady at work used the same branch for a service this was about 4 years after my experience. They serviced it but decided it needed this and that etc. Her husband said bring it home, they took it to another garage where these parts were not required.

Beware would be my advice, but I suppose the depot is only as good as it's staff. There is always the bad stories but many happy customers might have passed through their doors.

yup, just like car forums you only hear the bad stories.

There are many posts on here, that dealers forget bits and pieces from their car. A little knowledge of what needs to be done is useful.

I would highly recommend that you check the parts they have fitted. Especially tyres, brakes and things that could cost you your life.

It could happen at any garage or dealers unfortunately.........

will they let you bring your own parts and use their 4 wheel lifters for free and then allow you to do the service yourself with their tools.

Would contribute to the coffee fund though and bring some doughnuts

glynn, but most customer parts are the official manufacturers OEM parts which are deemed better than generic copied parts.

Also, what kind of a warranty do you get from a Service?

Wouldn't it just mean you don't get a warranty for it.

I can't see a problem with service parts and oil. They still charge enough to give them the same profit. So its no skin off their nose....
