    Default Hancook Tyres?

Has anyone ever had a set of Hancooks on their car as i'm considering a pair for my GSi. I was quoted a staggering £186.80 per tyre from National tyres to fit Goodyear NCTs I have however found a good deal on Hancooks from My Tyres.co.uk. Does anybody have any suggestions for boots?
    My tyres are 215/50/17

£186 is staggering for 215/50/17 NCT 5's. Should be around £120-130 from a decent tyre place.

Never used Hankook tyres so can't really help. Aren't they the 'budget' end of the market. You'll probably want something a bit better on a GSi?

Are your rears near to needing replaced? If so, you may want to consider switching to 225/45/17's as there is a much bigger range of tyres in that size - as well as being a little cheaper.

I put Hankooks on my previous MG ZT. It was like driving on jelly. It proved to me that the main brand tyres are definitely worth the extra. After all, it's all that connects you to the road!

    Mike,

I have recently put a pair of Eagle's of the front of the GSi at £220.00 all in. Small local tyre centre, a one man band affair... With the beating the GSi gives them I'd personally stick with a major brand tyre. Hunt around the independants, They haven't got Nationals overheads.

Thanks for the input lads it sounds as though the Hankooks are dodgy on the postings so far. I will shop around and try and get a deal on some decent boots.

Best tyres i have found so far and lets be honest tyres are a very personal choice, Avon ZZ3s.... shopped around got them for £95 each fitted. I do about 30K miles a year and they lasted me for 15K miles .... not sure if thats good for a tyre did try P6000 good grip but lasted me about 8-10K miles ....

I fitted a set of 4 Hancook about 5 years ago. They were cheap and I was hard up. Can't say there was a noticeable change in performance versus the Pirellis that had been originally fitted but they lasted 10,000 miles. Total false economy for me.
