Got my first First Aid Course at my head office in Cumbernauld tomorrow.

I did a bit of a first aid course a while ago.
And became a patient! Talk of 'Brain fluid' and broken necks did it for me!
Strange really, confronted with a serious injury, I can and have hacked it before!
I used to be a front line medic for the police.
2 weeks of first aid..............extremely difficult.
we used to be medic for the "riot police" and in training they used to get the bigger fattest git to fall and pretend to be injury. Had to pick him up and run with him to the first aid station.
Got to watch some gruesome video's. The hyde park bombing for one, a US Senator blowing his brains out on TV and a US bomb disposal expert blowing himself up.
In my 4 years of service I did not treat anyone.
The closest I got was at Park Lane where a lovely lady officer got hit in the inside of her thigh by a bolt. I asked if she needed first aid to which she replied...."F**K OFF"
ungrateful or what...................given it up now...
I have been First Aid trained for six years now.
4 day course was quite hard going. Too much information for such a small brain
We only get a refresher course every 3 years
So if someone need help!
Recently got trained on an Automated External Defibrilator. Only good thing about that is you get to shout "Stand Clear"
Sounds like I went on the same one as Del - SO much information, and some seriously gruesome videos to watch We also don't get anything else for three years - it is crazy - the number of times I will ever need it is virtually nothing, I am sure I will forget it all!!
i work for a clinical research company and get trained yearly and you still forget
enjoy the breakfast!!!
It was quite good. Although believe it or not, a whole day sitting on your backside is quite tiring. We did a few practical bits which were a good laugh, but most of the mistakes were made by me......
The woman taking the course got me to be the patient on most of the demonstrations, and i was told by the rest of the group she must have had a soft spot for me
There was another guy my age there, but he was nearly 7ft tall, but they all said he was too tall for her!!!
My Head Office seems a good place, staff canteen is full of grub which is all FREE, something the store staff never get, and i'm going to see about trying to get a transfer up there to one of the offices, as i've been doing the same job for 3 years and i'm getting very bored very quickly....
