if it's turning black then it's dying Rob.....that shows the cells inside are ageing..most of these batterys are sealed for life and the only fix is to replace it..

it's a shame you're not in the UK, i could sort you out with a new VX one for around £35.00

35.00 that`s a bargain! Thaks mate...have to start thinking about moving somewhere closer
I`ll try to find out how much does a stealer wants for one of those around here and replace it somehow.

BTH GSI I started this other thread while you were not arround (bad idea)
Take a peek a shoot any comments
    Cheers

At the fear of a little thread highjack

The light on my battery is black sometimes and green others LOL a good long run normally turns it green. I managed to run it flat while camping at Silverstone this year and I think the jump start from the RAC has finished it off

How much can I expect to pay for one ? not necessarily a VX one ?

a quick tip..... VX do a range of batterys called the 'GO' range at high street prices..BUT they give a 3 year warranty on them....Mrs GSI has just had a whopper of an 80 Amp/hour one for £38+vat from them..worth a phone call to your local parts counter to find out their current price for your car..

bear in mind i get a good discount, but VX will be competative.....worth the 10P for the phonecall alone...it's all we fit now on any car..
