    Default Newest mod

    Hi Everyone,

I just bought the part for my next great mod, but don't get too excited, it's only a tax disc holder.

Am going to fit it later & might do a how 2 after (not really ).

I'm finally getting rid of the massive dealer one (someone on here wants it anyway)

It's a small job but I bet several swear words still end up being used.

    Hi Andrew,

Pics of me cursing or of the disc?

It looks like some kind of metal but I havent opened it yet so it could be plastic

Cost me a tenner, so not the most expensive item ever.

Small mod, but makes a nice little difference! Just beware when you come to change the tax disc if it's the one that needs an Allen key to remove the back.

When I fitted mine I put the tax disc in before sticking it on the window as it obviously makes life easier! Came to change my tax disc the other day - what a friggin nightmare!! Fiddly as ferk!!!

In the process of undoing the little allen bolts I managed to drop the allen key and a bolt into the gap between the top of the dash and the screen!! - Doh!!! Now need to sort out something to retrieve them! I think a the end of a coat hanger (magnetised) will let me get them.

Next time I'll make sure I put something down to catch any droppages!!

I have had the same experience Duncan, I now jam a cloth in the gap before changing it

I used a thin screwdriver with a piece of blue tack on it for the retreival operation ...

Also don`t be tempted to put it to far down the windscreen as you cannot get the allen key in when it comes time to change it (talking from experience again *lol*)

Thanks guys, I'll bear all of this in mind when I fit mine.

Couldn't be bothered today, late home from work. Hopefully I'll get chance tomorrow.

I've just emailed the chap that sells the laser etched richbrook holders on ebay (based just up the road from me) to see if I can go and have a look at some in the flesh to decide which one to buy.

I'm gonna see what he says about a little club discount if I get a positive response, any objections from Admin???

    Wink

yeah this will be a mod for me in the future but at the moment as you all know i've got a rather large dent in my wallet at the mo,so we'll have to see.

I'm glad Tommy mentioned about the positioning of them cus thats the sort of thing i would do put it to far down the screen clutts sometimes LOL
