was wondering if folks experienced a significant change in insurance premiums after a main mod, like a remap or something simple, like a spoiler mod.

when i told them it was VX approved parts fitted, they have just bumped my premium by a few pounds, or just made a note of it on the policy...For real 'no quibble' you need to insure with Adrian Flux..they will accept any mods within reason
Yeah, AF are excellent. They basically don't care unless its a performance enhancing mod, I've told them every mod I've made, they just reply to my emails and say 'thanks for letting us know'.
Strangely though, for a bodykit, they have a standard 10% load on your premium....
Has anyone had to call on AF when they've been in an accident? I always think that's when you find out how good an insurance company are!
Thanks,
Steve
Cool, I'll wait and see what my renewal is like from Vx insurance.
thats a point actually, when insuring a car and they ask "has anything been added/modified" does this include the xenon light upgrade which was factory fitted as new ? If the car was written off would they take this into account when paying out if i havent mentioned it.
Ive had trouble lately with AF. Had cover for 45 days had already payed £180 of a £400 premium. Because I had not sent my forms back they said it will get cancelled on the 15th so i sorted out cover elsewhere. and when i phoned up to find out how much money i would get back the said that you will still owe us £110 I said im not paying it and had an arguement down the phone at them roll on the debt collectors....
As far as I know anything that's factory fitted is OK. Modified surely equals changed since coming into your possession........Am I right?
Had a good deal from AF. The BSR Stage1 remap effectively upped my previous quote from them by about £40. Compare that with over £200 with Prudential (who use Churchill). And as for Tesco their renewal was £80 more than last year before the remap. If only I hadn't got those 6 points last year
