    Default diesel power specs?

My old man is getting a vec company car in a couple of weeks. All he knows is that its 6 months old and a diesel. Can anyone out there tell me what the power specs are on the full range of diesel engines?

Six months old eh, then I think it's most certainly a 1.9 litre with either 120Ps or 150Ps output. These are different engines, the less powerful having 8 valves against 16 valves in the 150 jobbie - which is arguably the best engine in the entire range, taking performance and economy into consideration. If it's a little older than this it may have the 125Ps 2.2 litre rattler or even (I believe) a 2.0 litre - but I don't know that engine's output.
I think the 150Ps comes with a six speed gearbox.
Good cars whatever engine really, but the 150 Ps makes it a real flyer!
Don't want to be behind them though....cough cough cough

The 1.9 CDTi's were released in 2004, so if the car is 6 months old and a Diesel, then it will be one of them hopefully.

As Doug has said the 150ps is the pick of the range, but the 120ps is still no slouch.

It could always be the 3.0 V6 CDTi (yes please), which I think is 177ps as standard. These are usually very high spec'd inside so keep praying.

If it's a 2.0DTi then you are looking at only 100bhp.

These were still available until May 2005.

He has just been told its the 1.9cdti club. Looks like I'll have to put my foot down a bit harder to keep in front of him now.

But you never know it could be the 150bhp. If it is, you'd better put your accelerator through the floor to stay in front of him.
