Default ESP and Electric folding mirrors

Hi all i have a 2006/06 1.8vvt SRi and have seen in another post that the wiring for esp is already there and only needs a switch but was on a preface lift i think, does this apply to my model??

Also my car does not have the electric folding mirrors some of you guys seem to have, how hard is this to fit and how much??

    Thanks

    Adrian

I dont think they fitted T/C to the 1.8 or any 4 cylinder SRi on the face lift as standard as for the folding mirrors there are a few bits you will need to buy including new mirrors and a door panel switch plus have it enabled on Tech2 at your dealer some one who has done it will be along soon to give you the full list !!!!

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

No. ESP doesn't require a switch. It does, however, require a yaw rate sensor, a steering angle sensor and an upgraded ABS unit.

Are you not referring to Traction Control, not ESP. If so, its a case of hit and miss whether fitting the switch will or won't work.

    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : SRI NAV XP

    Engine : 1.9 CDTI 150

    Year : 2007

    Mileage : 72K

VX decided that the chassis/suspension/handling was so much better on the facelift as compared with the pre-facelift that Traction Control:

    1) Is not required, and therefore not supplied as standard on any non-V6 model Vectra.
    and

    2) Is only available bundled in with ESP and only available as standard on V6 models.

So if you have a facelift and you want Traction Control, you will have to pay for ESP, if you haven't already got it. End of story.

Edit: On the facelift, ESP is available as an extra-cost option on all new models except 'Life'.

I've got ESP & can still spin the wheels in the low gears, only difference I get a little yellow "car being chased by snakes" light flickering on the dash.

Even if you have ESP or TC, the driving wheels can still spin on loss of traction. TC cuts power to those wheels to restore traction. Flickering 'snakes' graphic simply means that TC is active. Works exactly the same as TC on my pre-facelift vectra.
