Default First wash for new veccy

I think I'm going to use my local Kosovan hand wash. Never had any probs in the past. Lazy I know, but it's it's all done, inside and out, in ten minutes. Any thoughts?

If your car is the nice new dark one in the pic then no! In no time you will have loads of swirls. Get yourself some good shampoo and a wash mitt and do it yourself.

Just don't make a habit of it....

They tend to use cheap, harsh detergent and the same sponge all over your paintwork that's just done the wheels of the land rover in front. You'll be fine as long as it's VERY occasionally!

For me, part of the enjoyment of getting a new car is washing it myself and making it nice and shiny.

You can then sit back and look at your car with a great deal of satisfaction thinking, I made it look that good.

Although perhaps I am just strange

No mate, join the club. It can get very expensive with new glazes, waxes and foam guns though.

I used my local Kosovan "detailing" crew as well yesterday.

    The car looks great!

I've used them loads as it's either them or the car stays dirty!

I'll try not to use them too often, I guess it's off to Halfords for a clay bar kit.

Also if you have a flat blade rear wiper be carefull as they have now snapped mine off 3 times as it gets caught on the mitten thing.

When I first bought the Vec I took it to one in Leeds, they hit the side of the car with the high pressure lance and put a large scratch on the door, a bit of DC1 and it came out, but needless to say I never went back.
