Default What if I change my mind....

Got a nice long 4 day weekend coming up so thinking about painting my calipers... Just wondering whay my options would be if I painted them and decided I prefered them unpainted? I don't think it will be the case but thought I'd do my research...

The plan was to paint one side first to make it easy to compare with/without. I'm guessing though if I didn't like them I'd have to buy brand new calipers ? If so what sort of cost am i looking at?

Or if you REALLY don't like them, you could re-paint them black or silver, make them much more discreet?

That's what I'm doing with my big brake upgrade when I get it - paint them gloss or matt black so they look cool but don't stand out...

hmmm I was thinking of either red or white as I have a black veccy, red always looks good in the photos ive seen, not seen any white on a black car before though, thought it might look a bit different

Holy cow! White? How difficult would it be to keep them clean?

Personally, on a black car, I'd go for red or blue.

I used Hammerite with no problems at all. Or you can buy proper caliper paint from Halfords or on ebay.

Preparation's the key.....just make sure the calipers are really, really clean before yuo go anywhere near them with the paint. I used some alloy wheel cleaner to dissolve the brake dust, then scrubbed with a very soapy solution of washing up liquid and stiff brush to get rid of any grease still left.

Do you need to remove the calipers before painting?

How long does it take and how many coats of paint are required?

You can leave them on. Allow half a day for prep and paint. It may take 2 coats.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Cheers!

Tomorrow's shopping list, 1 tin of Hammerite.

Only problem now is deciding on the colour
