    Default New headunit help

    Morning all,

Has anybody got any recommendations for a new HU?

My budget for the HU and any adapters to keep the steering wheel remote/info screen active is around £200.

I've already ordered a fascia adapter from Vx, I beleive this comes with an ISO adapter.

HU must be 5G video iPod friendly and make/receive calls via bluetooth.

    Thanks

Blimey! You're pushing it.....the adaptor to keep your steering wheel controls will set you back about £20 or £30 of that, and possibly more if you want full functionality on your info screen.

So effectively you need a bluetooth HU with either USB or 3.5mm input on the front, for just over £150.

    Good luck....

Well, thats what I thought but there is this

    http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/prod...00_p-22613.htm

    or this

    http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/prod...bt_p-22764.htm

For between £20 -£50 there are either aux in cables or full on iPod interface thingys which allow control of the ipod via the HU.

Question is will I be able to get the required adapters for either of these to for the steering wheel/screen controls?

The £200 budget has some flexebility, I'm just not after a killer £400+ HU.

    Thanks

you can get sony adapters from www.connects2.co.uk which will work with the display and steering wheel controls. i don't think there are any adapters for the pioneer at this moment it time

    Thanks R13hard,

What do you think of this?

    http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/prod...02_p-22207.htm

The part number would suggest it's pioneer/canbus compatible.

Strange that it isn't listed on the connects2 web site!

    Well,

after a day on the world wide wonder web I think I'm going for this

    http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/prod...00_p-22757.htm

    and this

    http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/prod...02_p-22207.htm

Works out at about £330 including the Vx facsia(with iso & aerial adapter)

Bit over budget but seems to have good reviews and is true plug & play.

Originally I fancied this (because you can make it orange)

    http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/prod...bt_p-22764.htm

    and this

    http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/prod...p1_p-20938.htm

but the iPod adapters needs an external live feed and so on. Don't fancy a Canbus tussle so the top line seems the best bet.

Anybody know better, please please shout otherwise I'll be wasting £300 in the morning.
