Default Fitted rear spoiler, rear wiper arm hits it

Finally got round to fitting the rear spoiler to my estate last night (I know pics are the law, but I need to wash the car first before I dare take any pics...).

All fine until I had to use the rear wiper today - it swings round and taps the underneath of the spoiler as it passes

I can only assume that somehow my mate and I managed to bond it "too" well to the car and the middle bit has stuck a bit lower than normal, buts its a bit late now to do anything about its position.

Any suggestions as to what I can do? Has anybody fitted the arm from the Skoda Octavia estate as in the pic below? If so, is it shorter than the standard arm? (pic thanks to a post by sig63 in another thread)

Try fitting the Signum wiper blade: the Signum wiper is smaller but I don't know if it is because of the wiper blade or the wiper arm

Interesting, never thought of that - I'll measure one up. Thanks for the idea!

Yep, I've fitted the Octavia wiper arm. Did it at Trax, in fact. (thanks for the wiper puller tool, Mark )

I asked them for the whole lot, but they only supplied the arm itself, not a wiper blade. So i popped into Halfrauds and picked up a 16" flatblade. It's now about 1/2" shorter than the original arm, but more importantly for you, because its a flatblade, the profile is far, far lower.

    Highly recommend it.

(Just make sure you order the wiper arm, a blade, AND the cover that fits at the base and hides the nut)

The arm itself was £22, blade was £10 or £15, the nut cover was er....um....FOC....I might have accidentally 'liberated' one from a display car on the way out of the dealers.....

    Lol!

Thanks. I'll have a look at the Signum are first I think as the arm only just taps the underneath (I've even thought of getting hold of a Dremil to make a hole so it clears - which will help drainage I suppose - but thats got potential to go wrong...) so it may work
