Well i collected my new SRi NAV XP estate at the weekend and i must say i'm very pleased with it apart from one thing, And that is that the navteq cd is 2006 / 2007 and the current version is 2007 / 2008, i emailed Vx customer care and they said its down to Navteq, i emailed navteq and they just emailed me back a link to the order page on their website.. Dealers have said that if vx agree they can change it under warranty but as said above VX customer care are blaming Navteq...

I hope owning a vauxhall isn't going to be hassle...

I hope this isn't a case of "well thanks for paying for the car, now F**k Off!!!"

they may still have enough to goto new cars coming out in nov/dec and we are still in 07
just another way of looking at it

if it was 05/06 then yes you have a case

Another way to look at it is that i have 2006 version not the 2007 version, My car was registered on 1/9/07, i therefore expected as we are 3/4 of the way thru the year the latest version or at least a voucher / code for a free update. I have bought new maps from tomtom in the past and by doing so you are entitled to any updates that are released within the following 12 months, at most a tomtom is £400 with maps costing £100+, a lot less than i paid for a new car..

MarkM, I have the VXR steering wheel and Gearknob fitted in mine, I asked for the gearknob to be fitted, it cost just over £130...

I'll hopefully get some pics taken at the weekend, Its still only done 75miles..

should be 2007 model, VXR style pack One with the 19" snowflakes it what I asked for as per the current booklet, (not the new 2008 one with 18" multi spokes)

The only Vectra's I've seen it has got some big plastic nobb on !,

Good call, I should have asked the to upgrade the nobb !! I'll be going back once run in for a remap from the dealer so should be able to ge that done too if I don't like the standard SRI one

I don't know much about these new maps, but how much of the new version will be that different to the previous, I imagine its not really a lot.

The version i got with the car came out in june 2006, so its 15 months old, And i know of a lot of roads that have changed and new bypassess that are now open, Both here and abroad(major roads of europe) roads change alot. the 2007 / 2008 version was released by navtech in june this year, So it was released before i ordered my car which was built for me and to my spec starting the 2nd week of July, Vx customer care told me that navtech issue them with out of date software, My argument with them is that the built in satnav costs £1250 and it comes with a 15 month old nav cd, I can go buy a top of the range tomtom for under £400, when i register that tomtom i can download any free updates that are available, Navtech dont do this, which is just not right, Navtech have themselves a nice little update rackett which is enhanced by issueing old versions with brand new cars, From what a Vx customer care manager told me they are looking into this situation at VX Managerial level, Obviously i am not the only new car customer that is ****ed off at having a new car delivered with nav software that is over 1 year old

The good news is I got a phone call from Vx customer care this morning and they told me to phone my VX dealer parts manager and he would sort it out for me, So i rang them and they are ordering me a 2007/2008 version, the guy also agreed that navtech are out of order for issueing old versions with new cars, he said it causes them a lot of problems.. So hopefully navtech will get the boot soon and they will start using built in tomtom equipment...
