Default sevice at non VX dealer to keep warranty valid

My Vectra 1.9 cdti (56 plate) is due it's first service this month and i'm loathed to pay main dealer prices. BANDITS!!! After only a few speculative phone calls I've found a garage at nearly half the price of Vx dealer and that included genuine Vx parts. Have read in the service book that as long as genuine VX parts are used and the car is serviced at the correct intervals that would be ok with regards to the warranty. I want to make sure I do not invalidate the warranty in any way. The last car I had (C-Max) spent more time in the dealers than on my drive!! Does anyone know if this is right??

As long as they are VAT registered, perform the service to the recommended schedule and use VX, or comparable quality, parts then your warranty will be fine.

Yep. Just had my second (ie major) service done at a non-vx place. Absolutely over the moon with them. And a whole £89 too!

£89 for a major service!!! Cracking price that mate. I was quoted £85 for my first service but that was just after a few phone calls. Bring oot the yellow pages me thinks!!

F1 Autocentre think they're only really midlands based, sadly.

But definitely have a ring round your local independents, you'll save a fortune!

Wow, that's a steal m8, just paid £170 for my 2nd from Vx a couple of weeks back. Thing is our local garages are fairly dodgy, hear too many bad things.

Default does it apply to network q

I think there's a potential banana skin here:-

AFAIK all manufacturer's warranties have to abide by the block exemption rules, ie any VAT registered garage can do the work using Vx parts

BUT- I don't think this applies to the Network Q warranty that applies from 60,000 miles onward- pretty sure they stipulate it must be a Vx approved repairer, otherwise netQ warranty invalidated
