General opinion is to avoid cone filters - there's not enough cold air to make any difference. Get a K&N panel filter, and derestrict the airbox (in the how2 section).

Having said that, I tried lots of filters in mine to see which gave the best result and found that the foam mushroom came up No1. On your's, you would do well to do as said because it's naturaly asperated. Also there may be a piece of plastic behind the upper grill, deflecting direct airflow. Remove that and you should get a bit of ram induction at speed.

Thats good because the panel filters are way cheaper. I have looked in the how 2's and cant find out how to derestrict the airbox

Cool will defo do it - the box mods seems far too easy but I like it. Are you using a k&n too? Does the panel filter make any noise or is it just a cone filter which does that

The performance panel filter may make a little more noise but it's negligable. Cones can make an amazing amount of noise though!

my previous job included work on a rolling road and i found that the replacement panel filters worked well after all the manufactures spent a long time getting cold air in but cone filters can be better if you use a proper heat shield and get a direct air flow plus they sound better
