Did You mean the Suction Mount of the Windscreen??? or the Sat Nav.of the Cradle?? Satnav of Cradle: Press the middle Button with the small Triangle and tilt Unit toward You.
To remove Suction Cup from the Windscreen look at the Top of the Suction-Cup (the clear Plastic) push the Lever to the left to release the Vacuum and pull on the small Lip of the clear Plastic to let Air in to the Space between Windscreen and the Clear Plastic. Mine works fine everytime.

You have to press the Middle Button ca 5 m/m in to the Unit otherwise the Catch will not fully release the TomTom from the Cradle. You can see what is involved if You turn the Unit over and press the Button. If You can not tilt the Unit easily toward You than it has not been released at the back.

Agreed. I have a little cloth in the car which i use instead of just my fingers, which seems to give some more grip. It is a ballache thats for sure!

I have a brand spanking new TTOne here, and the latest type of suction mount doesnt have a lever to release the vacum, its just a straight forward push to the srceeen one, then pull it off. It is very stiff to get it out of the cradle though, i did think to out a smal dob of vasoline on there, to see if it made it any easier getting on/off the cradle.

Mines is exactly the same. All my other sat nav's have had a release button. Although this one is by far the best i've had
