    confused Confused of Chester

I've been using the Meg 3 step system for a while now but I'm looking to go a bit further so can anyone help with:

    1. When would you use a glaze ? i.e is it clean, polish, glaze. wax (four step )

    2. When would you use a sealent? i.e is it clean, polish, glaze, seal, wax (five stage )

    3. What does the glaze and sealent stage add to the process? (other than another hour)

    Thanks

    Steve

This is the process i went through last weekend :-
1 Wash car using the 2 bucket method
2 Without drying clayed my car to get rid of the impurities in the paint
    3 wash again as above
    4Dry using waffle weave towel
5 Polish using megs (will be changing this in future)
6 Glaze using chemical guys ez glaze
7 Sealent apllied, chemical guys ex-p
8 Finish off with P21's carnuba wax
    9 Wheel sealant applied
10 Final once round the car using chem guys quick detailer
11 Cold beer and stand back and admire
    12 Radox bath!!!!
All in it took over 5 hours but will make cleaning easier in the future so i see it as time well spent

    Thumbs up

Sorry went off on one a bit there
In answer to your original qustion easiest way to get into detailing as i have done recently :-
    wash
    clay
    polish
    wax
That will give you a good finish if done correctly, glaze basically enhances shine ,selant will make your finish last longer and waxing after sealing will enhance the deepness in colour, it all depends how far you want to go with it really but i'll warn you now once you start it will become an obsession
Hope this is of some use i'm pretty new to this myself but with some hard work the results can be awesome

Don't you need to wash it first Alex?

Seriously though, what glazes and seals are out there?

I've had a good look around DW. (Awesome VXR8 detail on the front page BTW) and they say that DC 2 is a glaze and that NXT tech wax is a sealent.

So I'm gonna go wash>clay>wash>clean (DC1)>glaze(dc2)>Seal (product to be decided)> wax (product to be decided) This is for the missus new motor BTW.

    I'm gonna wash>wash>wash>wash>wash>wash>wash>wash>clean>clea n>clean>wash>wash>wash>glaze>glaze>glaze>Seal>seal >seal>wax>wax>wax>wax. if i get the Evo.
