    Question 1.8 VVTi or 1.9CDTi ?

    Been looking for a facelift Vec SRi for my pop and found 1 on a 06 plate with 14k mls in ultra blue for £9995. or should he go for an 06 plate 1.9cdti 150 (same engine as mine ) don't know mileage for £9495..?

    What you think ?

    Nothing wrong with the 1.8 imo, just depends on what suits his needs better and condition of the cars.

    If he does the miles, then Diesel. If not, Petrol.
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    I've never heard anyone say they get more than about 40-45mpg from the 1.8. On top of that, it's far slower.

    Yes your right, but with the residuals being higher with a diesel its more than likely that the petrol 1.8 will be the better car. Also there is a smaller chance of the 1.8 breaking down. If you gat a bad 1.9 cdti you get a really bad one if you all know what I mean. Really he would need to see and drive both to make a proper informed decision.

    DIESEL DIESEL DIESEL!!! Cheaper tax, more miles and more bang for your buck, and it is a diesel!!
