Default Never buying a Vauxhall again

I have had problems with noisy tyres and a juddering clutch on a new 07 plate 1.8vvt.

I have rung up Vauxhall customer services about the tyres and they constantly try to fob you off.

    "Vauxhall don't make the tyres"...no sh*t sherlock.

I have now decided that due to the cr8P customer service and general problems that i will never buy a Vauxhall again.

Sorry guys but the japanese manufacturers are the way forward for me!

    *End of rant*

    Which brand do you have?

Clutch is another issue, they should be sorting that out tbh.

VV's right the clutch they should sort out but as per your other thread the dealer did make a generous offer with the tyres. With the amount they sell I expect they only get a couple of complaints a year on tyre noise. The noise could be a number of things, road surface etc. Also seeing you wanted to have 215/60/16's fitted rather than the right 215/55/16's it looks like they were doing all they could fitting those. Yes the tyres you had are known to be noisy so I would change them for something else before making a sweeping statement like you have.

I have had many problems with my car and dealer when I first had it and I found vx customer care very helpful. But then I wasn't claiming for wear and tare items like tyres. The clutch. Yes they should sort it for you.

Don't worry People never post that everythings great. They only post the bad stuff. If you read a lot of the posts on here you will see, in the most part we all love the cars we own. Yes some have problems, some with VX CCare and others have none and have very good relationships with their dealers.

Firstly the brand of tyre is Bridgestone ER30'S.

Secondly the clutch is being replaced but thats not the point.I found out that Vauxhall have been working on this new clutch for 8 months so when i bought my car they KNEW that the clutch wouldn't be up to much and would have to be replaced.I don't know about you but if i'd known about this before i bought it then i would have run out of the showroom doors before the dust had settled.

Thirdly, i haven't had the tyres replaced yet.My dealer has offered to replace them for £45 per tyre and they keep my other ones.At least my dealer is trying to help where as Vauxhall just tell me to go away. What happened to customer satisfaction?

I just feel that in lue of having to suffer the inconvenience of replacing the clutch then Vauxhall would have tried to appease me with the tyre problem.

I was obviously wrong and hence the post.If they cannot help with customer relations then i don't want another Vauxhall

I agree that Vx customer care sucks massivly and the garages usually don't know much either.

Fortunatly, neither of them actually build Vectra's!

Unfortunately the clutch problem isn't on all cars, only some are effected. There for for everyone that doesn't get reported they save money. I dare say they will be sorted as they come in for services but you never know. Thats why they send out field remedies. I'm not saying its right its just the way all car makers operate. Along with electrical manufacturers too.

I'd be pressing for free stuff from the dealer as VX won't do anything. In the same situation I doubt any other would either. I don't think VX are great just that I doubt that any other car manufacturer is any better. Its all a bean counting excerise i'm afraid.

btw, good luck with the car

Despite the fact that you (and your dealer) have found the Bridgestone's noisy, surely VX have completed their part of the deal - supplying a car to you with tyres in the correct size as per their specification so I don't really see that VX have any reason to voluntarily change the tyres hence their reaction, although from a customer services point of view what have they actually said to you?

The clutch issue is now well known (my 1.8 suffers from it but I'll just get it done at the next service - luckily mines not too bad at the moment - and its basically come about due to an enforced change of materials thanks to the do-gooders and Brussel's etc) and my understanding is that VX have redesigned the parts, they needed to be fully tested to make sure they comply with wear rates etc, then they needed to be approved before they could be built in any great numbers, so a few months wait for them is to be expected (I'd rather wait and have them right than have a rush job) so what choice would VX have had - stop production of all 1.6 and 1.8 Astra's, Zafira's, Vectra's etc?

    * suffering from a migraine at the moment, hence the above might not make sense unless read with all relevant threads
