    Default Ouch! - Stray Badgers!

    Typical, just as I've booked my 2nd front spoiler to be painted, and stone chips removed from the front end, coming home tonight (about 20mins ago!) a badger decides to run infront of my Vec!

    Good Point(s):
    Badger seems ok, it left the scene rather quickly!
    Front Fog lights, and all inserts into the front bumper (apart from towing eye cover) are fine!
    My new Irmy front spoiler, and Signum fog light surrounds weren't on the car yet!

    Bad Point(s):

    Front bumper is hanging from the car, cracked the bottom edge.
    Will have a full inspection in the morning, but I need the car on Wed 5th Sept as taking my partner out for a couple of days! I could take the Audi, if I can tax it in time, but that doubles the fuel bill, and is 15years older than the Vec!

    So, I've posted in the PART NUMBERS section what I require, see HERE for the thread.

    I did take some pics but too dark, so will try again in the morning!

    As Promised, The Pics:

    Typical, after only the other week I picked up these parts. (The Irmy front spoiler arrived the day after this pic!)

    After inspection, all 4 pins underneath have been ripped out, 2x torx screws from each side in the wheel arch, and 1 of the black plastic pins from the top (next to the o/s headlight) hence the bumper is hanging off!
    Thanks for looking!

    Right, I just took the bumper off to find:

    Air Con Radiator is bent in at the bottom, and has been pushed into the next radiator (are there two engine rads on this, as I can see three in all, air con then two more!) Although, there doesnt appear to be any leaks.

    From Vauxhall:

    Bumper: 249-00
    Tow Eye Cover: 8-something
    Air Condensor: 202-00
    Clips (for 'skid pan' section of bumper): 0.90

    Well, all adds upto £540.00 + paint & labour! And thats hoping the 2nd rad isnt damaged.

    Cheers

    Chris

    There is a heat exchanger, then the intercooler, then the radiator.

    If they aren't leaking they would be fine as long as they aren't touching each other as that will make them rub.

    I hit a cat once at 50mph, made a little crack in the lower spoiler and left some hair, that was it. Badgers are just huge musscles on legs though, unlucky you hit it but lucky you hit it at the side of the car; if you hit it smack bang in the middle you might have ruptured the aircon heat exchanger, intercooler and radiator.
