Unhappy I've got the remap blues...

Spent hours fitting my Front Mounted InterCooler (FMIC) today and then went to get a custom remap to take advantage of it!

When I got there, I stuck it on the Rolling Road (RR) and gave it a bash with the tuning box on the midle setting to see what difference the FMIC made. It kicked out 196bhp at the fly and 266lbft at the road wheel BUTRtone of the pipes was leaking air very loudly . So I stuck on another clip and checked for more leaks but it was all good.

The guy had no trouble reading out my map and about an hour later was ready to stick it back in (he was playing with it while I was on the RR). He stuck it in no trouble and we ran it again. And out poped almost identical figures to the tuning box but with a big cloud of smoke that I didn't get with the box!?!?

I tried the box ontop aswell and pushed out some reasonable figures but with so much smoke, it just wasn't worth it. So he put it back to standard and I'm back on the box for now.

And no, I don't have pics as usual but if you make it down to Trax you'll see it first hand. I'll get some pics up as soon as I can though.

They increased the rpm limit to about 5400rpm and it showed 204bhp on the screen but was out by about 300rpm again so it was actually making near 219 but as I said, the smoke was stupid. It actually started smoking as soon as he accellerated, down around 1200rpm?!?

I had it done in Watford, can't complain too much; they put it in, tested it, it was obviously not right, so they put it back the way it was. No cost to me other than the fuel I used on the RR. They will hopefully have a look at what's wrong and get back to me.

You can't win Spoons, I'll never give up. The FMIC is fitted and working fine and I know someone else has recieved their FMIC today and are hopefuly going to fit it tomorrow. Theirs will be only the FMIC though, where as mine is connected aswell as the standard one. So we might have to have a few car rides on Sunday to see which is best...
