Default Switchgear & trim wearing is this normal ?

I went to look at a 1.8 SRI yesterday, 2004 and 54k, trouble is alot of the switchgear mainly electric window switches and door handles were badly worn which look like the top part of the plastic had come away, this was also the case around the air vents in the middle of the dash, and around the back of the arm rest.

Is this a common fault with the switchgear , especialy for such a low milage car ?

Im thinking the car had done alot more than 56k.

They're made from quite a soft platic, if people have oily/greasy hands the plastic would get damaged easily. Either that or a lady with long nails has been using the car.

People wearing rings can also cause this. Problem is once it's chipped & started of it just keep peeling.
These trims in question are easily replaced I'm lead to believe.

My 04 is at 73,000 miles, and has no such wear to trim items.

From what you have said, it sounds like it has seen heavy handedness of the highest order. Probably best you walked away.
Remember there are lots of vectra's for sale, so you can be choosy.
