Default Tom Tom one - help with downloads

This is doing my head in. I have apparently downloaded a free 'safety' camera list to my tom tom, now i just have to activate it in my point of interest. But for the life of me i can't see how. I remember this being a ball ache on my last one.

Anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks.

    Default

unzip all the files on your pc.
    Connect tomtom to pc.
copy the speed cam folders to your map folder which may be western europe or UK.
    goto manage POI'S on tomtom.
    Goto Warn when near POI'S.
Select each camera type, choosing warning distance and warning sound.

    Should work then

Thats only a rough guide for a more detailed guide your best trying pocketgps.com

Try here. Make sure you copy the files over and not the folder.

    Ok, deep breaths.

    I called Tom Tom.

Basically with the new software (version 6), the safety cameras do NOT show up in your POI list. But they are installed, and have a default setting to alert you to their presence.

He guy told me on earlier versions you could adapt your settings as they were a listed POI - exactly what I was trying to do, as it was on my old Tom Tom.

So that answers that. Just got to work out now if 500 yards (their defalt setting) is going to be enough distance to slam on the anchors! Thanks for the comments guys.

Thats a point, i could remove the Tom Tom ones and use the pocketgps ones.... which I could then play with in POI. I think pocketGPS make you sign up and pay these days though dont they..
