It would depend on the cost of the subscription for the updates to be honest, I can't remember what it is but someone should be along with an idea of prices.

Does it come with any remaining subscription?

for £20 it has to be worth a punt matey. I'd subscribe and get the updates as well.

A friend of mine has a road angel - not sure which model, but its pretty much top of the range. Very, very good, but I can't justify spending about £200 when I can avoid the cameras just by driving at the speed limit....

but all the 'safety cameras' are located at places that have high accident rates / certain types of accident, so in theory, any camera detector / sat nav with built in camera POI, is simply warning you in advance of any 'dangerous' location... I believe this reason is why such devices were not recently banned

...I've got the Road Angel Plus, and too be honest it spends most of it's time in the top draw of my desk at home. It's the top model with the radar gun detection and the 'wireless' (i.e. it has its own battery) option.

I'm paying the subscription which is £4 per month, but to be honest I abide by the speed limit myself. I don't really want to stick the magnet to the dash of the Vectra (as I did in my old car) as it would spoil the look, and the suction-cup mount for the windscreen is a pain!

...might end up selling mine once the subscription has run out.

The best two Speed Camera Detection devices are in the front of your head!!

My mates missus works for Road Angel(BlackSpot) and reckons they are useful, but the novelty factor soon wears off and its something else to rememeber to pick up before leaving the house.

Personally i wouldnt have one, as i say if you drive semi sensibly then you'll be fine, and even if you have the Laser Detection plug in, if your Angel can detect the laser, then the laser can detect you and the chances are your nicked!

for £20 buy it, after two months you can ebay it if you don't find it useful.

They are only any good when you are driving in areas you wouldn't normally drive in. They are useless in areas you know.

I have had about 5 now, seem to buy them, use them for a few weeks, then sell them on to someone else, only to start all over again a few months later (or a few close calls later)
