Unhappy They say things come in three's........

Not too chirpy at the moment! Not only is my car off the road still but a while ago in August i got caught fspeeding in Chelmsford in my works van by vascar (71 in a 50) not to be outdone by this i was working away in cornwall where i got caught by a vascar speed trap 2 weeks later (84.6 in a 60) ****** i thought. Clean liscense so now i am awaiting six points.

Oh this does't end there lol.....

Left my job to work for another company last week, recieved final cheque, my P45 and yup, you guessed it! Another speeding fine this time on the M4 in wales between J34/35 (85 in a 70)

So now am awaiting 9 points and i have to start some new insurance for my car in January, ouch. Moral of the story.....

WORK NEARER HOME YOU KNOW WHERE THE CAMERAS ARE!!

    Or slow down!

    OUCH.................................

Were you notified within 14 days of the offence? You or your company (or lease company) has to have the Notice of Intended Prosecution witin 14 days to be valid. (i think)

P.S. i think you need a Road Angel!

    EDIT......Just found this.

A Notice of intended prosecution is a warning that should be given by the police following the commission of a number of offences, such as speeding and driving without due care and attention (but only when no accident has resulted from this latter charge or if the driver would be unlikely to know that an accident had occurred) and is intended to let a driver know that he has either been photographed committing one of these offences or that a complaint has been made so that he can refresh his memory of the incident. The warning can be given in either a verbal manner at the time of the incident, such as when you get stopped for speeding by a patrol officer, or within 14 days of the incident by post. This would be done in cases of GATSO speed detection or when a complaint is made by another motorist, for instance, of your manner of driving. This form must be issued within 14 days to the registered owner of the vehicle. It does not have to reach that person within 14 days and the recipient does not need to have been the driver at the time.

If it makes you feel any better...and I doubt it...I'm working my way through a 6 month ban after getting nicked at 95 on the motorway and undertaking some myopic hatch driver on my bike. I'm gutted..feel f'n stupid and well pee'd off cos my nice new 150 CDTi is being driven by the wife. Consoled myself tonight by buying the CR1 tuning module from Diagnostix...when it comes I'm hunting high n low for a private stretch of road to give it a bit of stick.

All good things come to those who wait they say.........

As far as I am aware the NIP has to be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle within 14 days, for them to then declare who was driving the vehicle.... not sure if it might be a little different with VASCAR though??! MLC is the man to answer the question really.

Ouch - that's not good. Jeez, you're going to have to be really careful now!!

I know what you mean about things coming in threes though - just going through the mill at the moment - nothing to do with cars though.

I'm still waiting to see if I get a letter (or 2) for a couple of cameras that I didn't see til it was too late on my trip to Scotland.... a 9 hour drive reduces the ability to be constantly watching out for the bu99ers!!! Its been just over 2 weeks since I got back, so i reckon another 2 weeks of nail chewing (accounting for slow admin and Royal mail delays) should see me clear.

    Default Couple of tips....

Firstly go buy a road angel....whilst its not 100% its better than nothing especially if you dont know the area...

Secondly...you could get insured with Isle of Man Assurance. They have a points protector policy which if you get a ban then they will pay out for travel expenses for up to 12 months! Found this pdf covering the policy notes: http://www.principalmarketing.co.uk/...%20wording.pdf
