Not too sure on the induction kits, but i have had the air box mod done and it certainly made a difference to my car, especially on cooler nights.

Basically when you open the air box, take the air filter out, and where the air pipe comes into the base of the air box near the front of the car, there is a flat piece of plastic about 3 inches long covering the hole. Just snap the piece of plastic out.

Somewhere on here there are some photo's/link/how2, will have a look for you.

Here you go, found a picture on an older thread, this isa 1.9CDTi air box, but its the same principle.

Dont forget to disconnect the battery for 30mins after you have done it to let the ECU reset itself though.

I'm new to Vauxhalls so please excuse my ignorance. If you disconnect the battery for half an hour - don't you lose all the radio code and stuff??? I know if I had done that on most of my previous cars, it would be a right old job of re - entering codes etc.

On my car i did lose the radio codeand had a right job getting it afterwards, but i think some car's are ok. It is best to check you have the car pass with the radio code first.

There is a valid reason for disconnecting the battery though, it alows the ECU to re-calibrate itself for the different level of air going into the engine, or something along those lines. Its quite important you do disconnect it though.

OK - so I have to check that the car comes with the car pass for the radio. If it doesn't, is it just a question of asking a Vauxhall dealer for the detials? Thats how it worked with a Volvo I used to have....

Pretty much yeah, however, My problem was the car pass i had, and the details Vauxhall had did not tally up to the radio i had in my car. It had been changed at some stage in its life(Probably by The Car Shop where i bought it from) and the new code hadnt been written down anywhere. All i did was take it back to The Car Shop and they had a code scanner they put onto it and gave me the code.

Most 05 cars and all face lift models are full can bus and shouldn't need a code. Be aware though that electric windows might not function properly for a while afterwards. They will sort themselves out, shouldn't take more than a day.
