Default Anybody here changed a air recycling switch

Yes,my air recycle switch light seems to be knackered.Checked fuseboxes, couldn't find a dead one.Looks like the switch may have to come out.Its contained within a unit which also houses rear screen switch and a/con switch etc.Got the unit out but not sure whether it splits or whether the lot has to be replaced.Does the unit go sproing when you open it or will I be ok splitting it?Cheers.

I think it's gonna be a new unit!

Well, that unit is listed as one part number, no breakdown of individual switches. Whether you can get a unit from a scrappy and physically swap them over is another thing - possibly can.

What exactly is the problem with the switch? Physically broken or just not working when pressed? If the latter, maybe a good dose of switch cleaner will help.

    Default switch probs

    Hi Duncan,

    thanks for ya swift reply.

The switch is not physically bust but the light doesn't come on and it seems totally inoperative.Strangely, been out in it today and passed a combined harvester spewing its dust out across the road.Automatically thought 'Aaargh,my hay fever' ,pressed the button and it worked so that may be the end of it......hope so! If not, will try the old switch cleaner now that I know that I cannot buy a single replacement switch. Thanks again.

Depends what setting you have the air direction switch on too - if it's directing air at the windscreen, it won't operate the recirculation. Don't know why, but it's says that in the book when I went looking after mine wouldn't come on either...

    Got it.

I've had the motor for 2 yrs and must have never tried the recycling on whilst directing the air to the windscreen before!
    That's where the problem lay.
    Cheers.
