    Default z22se in a vec c

up to today i had always been under the imprestion that the early vectra c cars had not got the small oil jet fitted but to my amazement i did a chain kit on a vec c 2.2 and it had the early kit i was alerted to this by the owner that had seen the early "tsb" and his engine number was in the range now im not starting a mass panic but if you own a early vec c i would get your engine number checked on the "tsb" if you go to www.z22se.co.uk and check it out ...... but i mean only very early cars fitted with a z22se engine and poss reg's o2 or 52 ........

Yes Benny that was me I would also advise to check Any Engine No before 11065400 (March 2002 is affected) Further Information is on www.z22se.co.uk .Maindealers are still adamant that the C-Type is not affected but we proved otherwise despite what VX+GM are trying to tell us.The old Chain was streched and the Timing a few degrees out.(Lack of Oil?)
Engine is running now much better,Thank You again Benny

Ferkin hell. You would have thought they would have learnt by the time hey fitted it to the C. My 2004 SE must have been out of he range, but VX tech's timed it wrong when they replaced a duff oil scraper ring. Hole new lump Z22SE fitted in 2006, I take it all replacement units have new oil kit fitted as standard?

Hello rushy,as from Engine No.:11065400 (March 2002) all Engines have supposedly been fitted with the modified Chain-Kit according to Field Remedy 1532
so Yours should be allright. Check Your Engine No.

No your safe mate as I'm sure 1.8 aren't Chain driven. This problem has been the achilles heal of he 2.2 petrol for years but this is the first time it has shown up in the Vec C.

As Your Engine No is considerable higher than the Engine No given in Field Remedy 1532 and therefore build after March 2002 YES YOU SHOULD BE ALLRIGHT.But I can only say here what was given in Field Remedy 1532.
The only absolute Way is to actually dismantle and Check or forget it it
and trust VX what they say.
