I've planned to go round in front of a mates TT filming me, but it's £30 for 15 mins & FordFair was only £25 for 20 mins
Last year I tried to see if there were enough people interested that we could book our own 15 minute slot, therefore avoiding potential idiots in their Saxos etc. - but nobody was interested.
I'm not in a hurry to be on a track, in my car, with a bunch of people who I simply don't know (in terms of their ability and attitude to other people and their cars) so mine will be staying on the stand again this year.
I'll still be getting some track time though as I'm going to have shot in the Exige and a bunch of us are also doing the go-karting.
I must admit, for the £60 that the 2 of us will be paying between us I'm tempted to pay for a proper track day.
Yep, we'd certainly get more time on the track and for probably not a huge amount more cost.
I've forgotten who it was I was talking to recently, might have been Cabby, but they had priced up a track day at a track, with pits uses, and it was coming out very reasonably for a days use. Completely forgotten who it was I spoke to (sorry!) and what track.
Track day specifically for us sounds good
ok, who's gonna look into prices then. I only know of 2 groups to check, Bedford Autodrome who organise open pit track days at various different tracks, and the bookatrack.com website ?
Bedford Autodrome, I have been invited to a track day there by the company, a team building day so all expenses paid, and 2 days wages as well but can`t make it !!! Run by Palmer Sport you get to drive an XKR, Caterham 7 superlight, clio cup sport, 911 jp3 and a couple of racing cars, dunno the cost as it was a freebie but it looks like a spanking day out, the tracks look great as well ...
You wanna trasfer it mate. I went there for an open pit day a few years back as it's knowm as Jonathan Palmers (ex BTTC) back garden. Brilliant track with only one bad corner (heads straight towards a wall, the rest is all run off areas). Cost me a ton with me taking my own car too. Best of all, they allows passengars & 2nd drivers
