Default BSR remap now available for the 1.9CDTi

Browsing the Swedish site tonight I came across this - BSR reprogrammable remap now available for the 1.9CDTi (150).

Power graphs and times for mid-range acceleration, some impressive improvements there! BSRs figures are always on the conservative side and a number of engines will produce more then 151bhp as standard so the final figure will be higher.

Would be interesting to see if it is available in the UK yet and we could add it to our Group Buy!

EDIT: Group Buy thread now added.

Don't go too much by their Euro price. That equates to almost £620 for a Stage 1 when the full price over here is £550.

I wasn't sure if it was an option for the 120 (didn't list it) so be interesting to see what they say.

Off to have a look at the UK site just to see if it's listed there.

Nope, can't see it either - although a quick call to Justin could verify as the website may not be bang up to date.

Have you had your Signum on a RR, Duncan? How does the expected power compare with reality? Just that 184 BHP doesn't seem that impressive for the money.....

I've had two RR's where I've run at standard map and remapped. First was 183 and 212, second was 188 and 188 and 217 - so the gain on both was bang on the money for the BSR figures i.e. a gain of 29bhp and more importantly a good bit of torque.

BSR seem to find engines that are as close to the standard figures as possible, this means that their claim of the max power is going to be attainable by most cars, and as many cars will run higher then the standard figures the remapped figures will be higher than the BSR ones - if you see what I mean.

184bhp may not sound anything special, but the torque is up from 260lbft to over 300lbft. But the figures aren't everything, it's the driveability on the road. If my 2.0T is anything to go by, the increase of 29bhp and around 35lbft (from memory) doesn't sound a huge amount, but the difference on the road is something else - midrange particularly.

The increase of 31bhp from BSR's figures are a bigger % increase than the 2.0T - i.e. 31bhp from 151 compared to 29bhp on 175 so it'd be interesting to see how that drives given what BSR do.

Also, the huge advantage of the BSR is it can be removed and reinstalled at any time by the owner - something other remaps can't do.

After having my Saab remapped with the BSR system i would DEFINATELY go for this if i went back to a 1.9 CDTi Mine has gone from a fast car to an extremely fast car It pulls like a train in all gears, even 6th! It's frightening sometimes
As Duncan says, it is about how the power is delivered and although expensive it can be removed as you need easily.

this sounds good, I might be interested, especially as it can be removed, similar to the eds ipf thing, only thing is regal keep saying that the eds ipf units are "due in" soon whenever you ask about them or want to place an order. i take it that everyone is happy with BSR 's work etc? only ask as i've had no experience of them myself
