    Default Best Man Advice....ARGGGHHH!

On Saturday I have the honorable pleasure of being Best Man at my Brother in Laws Wedding.
Got my suit, got my speech, got a list of who does what when.

Got a LARGE hipflask, got booze to put in it.

    Anything else??

Any hints or tips gladly accepted

How many people are going to be at the reception for the speeches??

If there is loads, just pick one person in the room, and talk to them, it makes it so much easier.

Never had to be a best man, but ,made loads of speech's to large groups.

    Good luck mate.

    You're the Best man.

People will be on your side. Don't worry about making a prat of yourself, concentrate your efforts on doing that to the groom!

Relax, a few crib notes in the fashion of a few cards to keep you on track, don't waffle.

Oh, and don't forget to try and get off with the chief bridesmaid. I believe it's Best mans honour!

    Right here's how it goes

1st job - Take the groom out on his stag night and arrange for his arrest

2nd job - Accidently bump in to the hen party and sleep with the bride

3rd job - Leave before he's released and she wakes up (this way it will all seem like a dream to her)

4th job - Google best man speaches and copy and paste it remembering to change the names in it

5th job - When her best mate asks why you slept with her mate, tell her she must be thinking of someone else and be adamant it never happened

6th job - At the reception while making the speech, say how much you love your mate and what a top bloke he is but he shouldn't have married someone like her

7th job - resume ing, just like it used to be between you before he met her

    I was only joking btw

    Spooky.

    I'm in the same boat.

Best m8 is getting married middle of October and I'm his best man.

Well, thats not strictly true, he has decided to have two best men, myself ( I worked with him for 10 years ) and our other good mate who he shared a flat with for years, as we all grew up together and he did not want to offend either of us by not choosing one of us.

I think it will work out quite well. I'm off to my mates ( the other best man ) house tomorrow night to try and sort a combined speech out as far as format and content goes.

Neither of us are the best when it comes to public speaking so I reckon we are both pretty much bricking ourselves about it all, but its gonna happen so why worry?.

As someone said, everyone is onthe best mans side at weddings, and anything speechwise is appreciated and welcomed.

However, if anyone else has any more tips, I'm sure they will be taken onboard by both myself and sonicboom!!!.

Best of luck with things on Sat, sonic.....I'm sure it will all go just fine!!!.
