Default Where do you get your car serviced?

So not hijack another thread, where do you get your car seviced and why?

I have always, and will always use the smaller independant garages, as i personally believe the give a beter all round Value for money service than any main dealer or fast fit centre can.

...prior to buying the Vectra (as I've only had it a month) I always used a local independant. I found him more trustworthy, and only changed something if it needed to be, not because it told him too on a flowchart or something!

I've never really trusted dealerships as I've had a few bad experiences in the past with regard to warranty work.

Self service all the way. It's the only way IMO. I know exactly what has been done, when and that it has been done properly.

Oh, and costs a LOT less too

I do oil changes every 5000 miles myself, but I put it into the dealers once a yearpurely to keep it's Full Vauxhall Service History. It had 2 stamps in there already when I bought it, so it seems like a good idea to keep it going...

The local Nationwide centre does mine now, because:

1: They are half the price of the local dealer.
2: They're less than a couple of miles from my house.
3: Vx warranty is out, for the next four years I'm on a RAC gold cover, and they deal direct and recommend them.
4: Re number 3 I still need to get the service book stamped.
