Default Following from MLC's thread about 02

I am about to leave them, contract over,

In my personal opinion 02 are the worst organisation I have ever had the mis fortune to deal with. My contract has just expired, and its like a weight has been lifted from my life! Awful awful people.

I am about to sign up with Orange who on the surface of things offer a lot of usage for the money. Circa 1200 minutes a month, unlimited texts, magic number - for about £50. My average 02 bill is £100 p/m.

But always worth asking - has anyone had any horrific dealings with Orange? Coverage good? Customer service?

The 'magic number' appeals to me a lot as most of my bill goes to one person

I've found Orange difficult to deal with at times (and data-wise they are expensive and norrow-minded) - its better if you're a business customer like myself - but I think that all the mobile companies are much the same when it comes to customer service (expecially after reading round various forums).

I'm on Vodafone as a company phone and have not had ANY trouble. I've never rung the helpline ever. Reception is generally fine, only a few places have I been unlucky enough not to get a signal (but that mainly inside buildings anyway)

Reception with Orange isn't brilliant, I'd stick with T-Mobile or Vodafone.

I ended e-mailing the Chief Executive of 02 directly (googled him and with a bit of searching found his e-mail). Eventually got his PA ringing me trying to sort problems out.

Eventually got passed back to the minnows and it went downhill again. I found that you had to tell the same story to 4 or 5 different departments just to register a complaint.

    Utterly useless!

As above (except not a company provided phone as such as I'm self-employed). Wasn't happy with their recent changes to the Mobile Internet (data) stuff but struck a deal where I got it for half-price (£3.75 + VAT) and that allows up to 120Mb a month which is great as I recently got a (free) 3G card from another member (cheers Cabby! ) so I can use it on the laptop and not worry about clocking up lots of costs with that.

Depends on where you are - someplaces I go to you can't get a Vodafone signal but can get Orange, and in one place the only thing you can get is T-Mobile!
