Talking Just bought my 2nd hand Vectra......

    Hi all.

Just bought today a Vectra elite 2.2i. 03 plate with 70,000, although can't collect till tommorow. Very Excited. Paid £4600 and got 6 months warranty.

Just a couple of quick question's

    1. The car had a built in mobile phone holder, doesn't look fact fitted. It has a second arial at back, and the holder looks like it will take a nokia. Does anyone know if this mobile phone holder when connected will play the sound through the car stereo speakers? It has a microphone on the roof.I don't know what model the stereo is, but it is the one with 4 disc multi and seems to have a keypad to the right?

    2. The garage have stated they will service it before pickup, but will prob get it serviced at a dealer in a couple of months time as don't really trust the garage to do a proper job. How much would a 70,000 mile service cost roughly?

    Any advice would greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    Scott

I'd imagine that phone kit is not a Bluetooth one, and would expect it to have its own speaker.

How are they going to service and fault repair any car in that timeframe? I would expect them to maybe change the oil and filter at most. I'd also try and find out when the cambelt was last changed (im not sure of the change intervals for the 2.2) and if you have no record, factor the cost of a cambelt change into your service budget.

Congratulations on your purchase by the way and to Vectra-C.Com , lets hope your Vectra provides many miles of problem free motoring.

    Interval: never
    Cost: Nothing
    Reason: 2.2 is chain driven

It doesn't sound factory fitted so it will probably have a speaker somewhere. It also sounds like a CCC2006, same as I have. As for the service, as said its chain driven, no cambelt, both 2.2's are, petrol and diesel models. For a 70K service I'd think £150-£200. Its easy to get to the pollen filter and air filter to check if they have changed them. The pollen filter is under a rubber flap on the passenger side near the wipers, just pop the bonnet, look near the passenger side washer jet for a letter box size flap. Carefully lift the rubber bonnet seal and lif tthe flap. You can then see the pollen filter, a new one is bright white. As for the air filter, have a look when you get home, undo the screws on the lid and lift it up.

    Enjoy the car!
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Unless it got satnav it is probably a CCR2006.

With a visible mic and a second aerial it will not be factory fitted but that does not mean that it is not connected to the stereo. If it is not the case, you are still able to do so... lots of threads about that on the forum
